I have just returned from 2-weeks in Los Cabos, Mexico. We stayed in one of gorgeous Montecristo Estates on Sunset Beach between Pedrogal and the new Jack Nicolas Golf Course Development, Quivira Los Cabos. Residences at the Ritz Carlton.
I thought I'd share this interesting bit of architecture. I really admired how this home in Pedrogal was built to conform to the rock outcrop at the end of Sunset Beach rather than blasting it away.

Mirela, thank you .... Unfortunately the only way to get additional photos would have been to climb the path up the cliff and trespass. Next year I may try to meet the owner and get more photos.

Pam, sounds like you had a great time, I have coworkers who have homes there and they love it, it is a quick flight for us from here...BTW I also have a client who is almost sold out on a Condo Project there. Now US citizens can have Title insurance and loans, hence sales have increased drastically. Have you considered buying there??
Endre, It's hard not have a great time there. Perfect weather, awesome views, clean beaches, awesome service....It is about a 6+/- hour flight for us (connect in Phoenix). We also have friends that have places there. We just discovered that one even owns 2-months in the Villa next door! Small world, isn't it? ... Fractional Ownerships - 2months per year. Pueblo Bonito, Sunset beach, Montecristo. The Villas at Montecristo Estates. Gorgeous! 4000 sq.ft. w/own pool and spa. They take care of everything and includes daily maid service. Located with the new Quivira Jack Nicklaus Golf Course Ritz Carlton Residences on one side and Pedrogal on the other. Can't get much better than that!! Well you can but it would be $5+ million and up. (New Ritz Carlton Residences - Quivira... pronounced Kee-ve-ra)

I think some of the most beautiful buildings are those that are built into the landscape instead of, as you said, blasting the landscape away. I'm sure it costs a considerable amount more to do it this way, but the results are breathtaking!
