Coeur d'Alene no longer has an excuse to be "Computer Illiterate" - Free Classes
The Coeur d'Alene Public Library is holding Computer Workshops that teach computer basics, setting up email accounts, using the Internet, Word, Excel & Publisher.
The Workshops are FREE and available on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. You need to arrive at the computer lab 15 minutes prior to the scheduled class.
It's never too late to Learn!!
All of the Computer Workshops are in the Computer Lab at the CDA Library.

at 702 E. Front Ave in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
The Library now has WiFi Access Point connected to high-speed DSL. This unfiltered service is available on the main floor in the Main Circulation area, and is FREE.

Computer Workshop: Intermediate Word

Description - This workshop goes beyond the basics of word processing, exploring mail merge techniques and page layout tools that will enhance the effectiveness of your writing. Basic typing skills are necessary, as well as a basic understanding of Microsoft Word itself.
Computer Workshop: Basics in PowerPoint
When Sat, Aug 23, 10:30am - 12:00pm
Description - If you have information that needs to be communicated effectively in a staff meeting, to a class, or just need information on display, consider using PowerPoint. This workshop will provide the basic skills to begin creating visual presentations. It will guide you through slide manipulation, object use, transitions, and helpful hints for creating an effective presentation. Basic typing skills are necessary.
Computer Workshop: Basics in Excel
When Sat, Sept 6, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Description - Have long lists of numbers or information that need taming or calculating? A spreadsheet can help. Explore and understand the parts of the spreadsheet, basic formulas, basic formatting, and editing. Basic typing skills are necessary.
Computer Workshop: Introduction to Computers
When Tue, Sept 9, 10:30am - 12:00pm
Description - An informative tour in the basics of computers. If you have never touched a computer before, or have worked with computers but have not felt very comfortable with them, this workshop is for you. Basic typing skills are helpful, but not necessary.
Computer Workshop: Intermediate Excel
When Sat, Sept 20, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Description - Spreadsheets do much more than crunch numbers. Learn about Excels database functionality, creating charts and graphs, and creating more effective formulas on the run. Basic typing skills are necessary.

Pam~ I wish that in PA where my mom lived that they offered free computer classes. She finally bought her first computer and now doesn't have a clue about it. (I remember those days, LOL) I keep telling her one step at a time. You have to start somewhere......
